Jane Dodd

Jane was born in Lancashire and is part Welsh. She did a classical acting course at East 15 Acting School and further training at The Actor's Temple, London and the Meisner Centre, Los Angeles.

 

Jane won an Olivier Award in 2011 for La Boheme at the Soho Theatre and the Offcut 2012 Panel Award  as well as the Audience Award as an actor for In a Box. She also won critical aclaim for her performances in Colder Than Here and 4Play.

 

Jane supports new writing and played the lead in comedy drama 4Play (Sadlers' Wells Lillian Bayliss Theatre) in which she played four different characters. Other new writing credits include Still I See My Baby (Charring Cross Theatre), Make You Mine (Soho Theatre) and Bodies Unfinished (Brockley Jack Theatre).

 

Jane appeared in Essential Poems, a Talkback Production for BBC2 and her film credits include 4 independent feature films, and 5 leads in short films.

 

Jane was described by TimeOut as "excellent" and The Stage said she was part of  'the real wonder of theatre' demonstrating 'fine acting'. Other reviewers have described her performances as 'sparkling' and 'brilliant', pronouncing that 'her delivery is always emotionally convincing' and her performance 'delightfully playful and kittenish'.

 

Jane has military and legal training and a background in Science with a degree at Oxford University in Physics.
